INEC: Over 6.8 Million Nigerians Complete Online Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 6,852,097 Nigerians have taken part in the pre-online phase of the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as of October 5.

This was contained in the Commission’s week six progress report published on its official website on Tuesday, the 7th of October, 2025.

According to the update, females accounted for 3,582,408 of the total figure, representing 52.23 percent, while males made up 3,269,689 or 47.77 percent.

The Commission noted that youths between the ages of 18 and 34 constituted 4,689,637 of the pre-online registrants. It further revealed that 1,728,384 were students and 154,479 were Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

For the physical registration exercise, INEC disclosed that 1,216,048 Nigerians had completed their registration as of the 5th of October.

Out of this number, 658,766 individuals finalized their process after initially registering online, while 557,282 completed theirs entirely through the physical registration method.

The gender distribution shows that females accounted for 675,222 (55.53 percent), and males totaled 540,826 (44.47 percent).

INEC highlighted that youths continued to lead participation, with 897,676 of the completed registrations coming from those aged 18 to 34.

A further occupational breakdown showed that students formed a large share, recording 424,126 completed registrations in week six.

The Commission also confirmed that 17,450 Persons Living with Disabilities successfully completed their registration within the period under review.
