The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, has urged Christian youths across Nigeria to rise as agents of change and advocates of unity capable of ending the ethnic and religious conflicts affecting the nation.
Afuye emphasized that youths are the strongest force any country can rely on to erase divisions, foster patriotism, and promote peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and ethnicities.
She made this known on Thursday, the 9th of October, 2025, while declaring open the Convention of the Celestial Youth Organisation, held at the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Premier Parish, Omisanjana, Ado Ekiti. The event had as its theme, “Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers: The Power of Unity in Christ.”
In a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, Mrs. Afuye praised the CCC youth for prioritizing spiritual growth, stressing that “no nation can develop when its productive population are morally bankrupt and excessively divisive.”
“Any society where the youth lost their moral fibres often run into the ditch of criminalities and societal decay, which can derail its developmental focus and weakened other binding forces.
“It is a well established fact that no one can achieve anything on earth without being sanctioned from heaven. We are soliciting for more prayer supplications that can guarantee the success of this administration. We are counting on God and the church of God for us to accomplish our mission and set targets that will take Ekiti State to the promised land.

“I charge the youth as leaders of tomorrow, not to joke with their spiritual growth. What you are starting today will help the nation overcomes some of its challenges because we can only assume greatness, when all hands are on the deck to redirect our nation to that path where greatness can be achieved.
“Under this context, let us imbibe the spirit of bridge building to further cement our bonds in Christ that has united is together as a people, break the barriers of divisions in churches and in our larger society, so that we can stand firm in that unity we are pursuing lovers of Christ and Nigerian citizens.”
Mrs. Afuye encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in faith and continue to contribute meaningfully to national progress through unity and moral uprightness.
