Akomas Hails Tinubu Govt for Adopting Economic Resolutions

The former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Chris Akomas, has expressed satisfaction that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration has adopted and executed the economic resolutions proposed by the Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria, FFDGN.

Akomas made this known during an event in Abuja on Thursday, the 9th of October, 2025.

As the national chairman of the forum, Akomas emphasized its vital contribution to national growth and unity. He noted that Nigeria is now progressing toward realizing its long-term developmental goals.

“The forum is spurred by the interest of nation-building and development. We believe that Nigeria can achieve it best for our country and generations to come.

“Last year our conference was on issues around economics. We came up with suggestions and resolutions. I am happy to say the resolutions were implemented by this government,” Akomas told journalists during an interview at the forum’s new secretariat in Abuja.

Also speaking at the event, Senator Aliyu Wammako, a former Governor and Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, highlighted the forum’s importance in promoting unity and good governance.

“It portends unity for the country and ensures good governance. What the country needs are leaders that can come together for the interest of the nation to build a better Nigeria,” Wammako said.

Last year, the forum, in its 16-point communique, advised the Federal Government and sub-national entities to ensure that all external borrowings were directed toward productive ventures and infrastructural projects that would directly improve citizens’ living standards.
