The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed November 17, 2025, for judgment in the sexual harassment case involving suspended University of Calabar (UNICAL) lecturer, Prof. Cyril Ndifon.

Justice James Omotosho set the date after the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the defence counsel adopted their final written addresses on Tuesday.

Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at UNICAL, is standing trial alongside his co-defendant, Sunny Anyanwu, on a four-count amended charge bordering on sexual harassment, cybercrime, and obstruction of justice.

The ICPC alleged that Ndifon demanded “pornographic and indecent” photographs from a female diploma student via WhatsApp while serving as Dean, while Anyanwu allegedly threatened the student during the case.

Both men pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Justice Omotosho had earlier dismissed their no-case submission, ruling that the prosecution had established a prima facie case.

The ICPC closed its case in February after presenting four witnesses, including a forensic and intelligence analyst. Ndifon later testified in his defence, along with a forensic expert from the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The court’s decision on November 17 will determine the fate of the suspended lecturer and his co-defendant.
