Prophet El-Buba Alleges Ongoing Christian Genocide in Plateau State

Despite repeated denials by the Nigerian government that no form of religious genocide exists in the country, Jos-based cleric, Prophet Isa El-Buba, maintains that a genocide is ongoing in Plateau State, targeting Christians who are being killed and wiped out systematically.

El-Buba, Founder and President of EL-Buba Outreach Ministries International, made this claim in a video message shared on his social media pages on Monday, the 20th of October, 2025, said the government’s stance contradicts the reality on the ground, insisting that Christians in the state are under attack from Islamic extremists and fundamentalists.

Analyzing the scale of the killings, El-Buba said Christians are being killed at a rate of 6.5 to 1 compared to Muslims.

In the video, he stated: “There is this video sent to me by my brother, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, which I watched. This is the reality of what we have been talking about. Now, if you want to go and make an analysis of the statistics of Christians that have been killed, it is 6.5 to the ratio of 1 of Muslims killed.

That means the ratio of Christians likely to be killed is 6.5 to 1 of Muslims. That means Christians are killed 6.5 times more than Muslims.

So the question to ask is: who are the killers? Is it the Muslims killing themselves and then coming after Christians? Just look at this, there was a recent mass burial in three locations in Plateau State on the same day.

And the government insists there is no Christian genocide. Just judge for yourself. The advisor to President (Donald) Trump or whoever can say whatever they want to say, but there is no way they can deny what we are going through in Plateau.

This is the reality. Let’s all wake up and face the truth. No one can deny the fact that there’s Christian genocide in Nigeria, especially in Plateau State.”

El-Buba’s remarks follow similar comments he made last week countering the Nigerian government’s denial amid growing allegations from members of the U.S. Congress.

In a previous message shared online, the cleric said the killings were undeniable and accused the government of concealing the full extent of the atrocities.

He said: “Yes, there is ongoing genocide against Christians and Middle Belt communities in Nigeria.”

He further alleged that 7,087 Christians were killed in the first 220 days of 2025, averaging 32 deaths daily. According to him, 3,100 deaths were recorded in 2024 and 4,118 between October 2022 and September 2023.

Citing the 2023 Christmas massacre in Plateau State, where over 300 Christians were killed, and similar attacks in Benue State, he said the total death toll that year exceeded 500.

“There is this issue that is ongoing about the genocide in Nigeria against the Christians or the Middle Beltans. It is true. We can’t deny it,” he said.
