The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has renewed its call for massive voter participation in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
In a post published on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, October 23, 2025, the commission reminded citizens that “the power to build a better Anambra is on the ballot.”
It further urged residents to come out in unity and exercise their democratic rights peacefully, declaring that “our unity is our strength, and our vote is our power.”
The commission emphasized that collective participation remains crucial to consolidating Nigeria’s democracy and strengthening governance at the state level.
It encouraged citizens to “join hands for a better Anambra — vote in 2025!”
Reaffirming its readiness to conduct a free, fair, and credible election, INEC assured that all logistics and security arrangements are in place.
It disclosed that preparations for the early deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials, improved voter accreditation through the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), and real-time result transmission have reached advanced stages.

INEC added that it is working closely with security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to ensure the safety of voters, election officials, and materials before, during, and after the polls.
The commission appealed to registered voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so before the deadline, stressing that the PVC remains the only valid means of voting.
INEC also reiterated its commitment to inclusivity, assuring that special provisions would be made for persons with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women to vote without difficulty.
As political activities intensify across the state ahead of the November 8 election, the electoral body urged candidates and their supporters to uphold peace and avoid actions capable of undermining the integrity of the process.
