Arise TV broadcaster and social commentator, Rufai Oseni, has called on Nigerians to rise above tribal bigotry and embrace unity and love, describing love as the greatest virtue that binds humanity.
Oseni made the appeal in a post shared via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, where he addressed criticisms and name-calling from individuals who branded him “Yoruba omoale” for rejecting ethnic hatred.
“They call me Yoruba omoale because I don’t support tribal bigotry,” Oseni wrote. “Tell them it’s an omooko that speaks the truth and shuns bigotry. When bigots call you omoale for preaching love and shunning hate, then you become an omooko!”
He further expressed pride in his heritage and upbringing, emphasizing that he was born and raised in love by parents who instilled in him values of unity and compassion.
“My both parents loved me and birthed me in love. Some can’t even be proud of their parents. I don’t use my left hand to point to my proper Ijebu roots. I am proudly Nigerian to shun hate!” he stated.

Oseni urged Nigerians to stop promoting divisive rhetoric and abusive language, noting that peace and progress can only thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance.
“Stop preaching hatred and abuses. Let love reign. Love is the greatest,” he concluded.
Oseni’s message comes amid increasing calls for national unity and reconciliation in a country often strained by ethnic and political divisions.
