Nigeria’s Flamingos have stormed into the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup following a commanding 4–0 victory over Samoa on Saturday.
Queen Joseph was the star of the show, netting twice in the first half to set the tone for a dominant Nigerian performance.
The forward opened the scoring in the 12th minute before doubling her tally in the 34th minute to give the Flamingos firm control of the game.
Shakirat Moshood added Nigeria’s second goal in the 28th minute, while Azeezat Odutan sealed the win with a fine strike in the 67th minute to cap off a flawless team display.

The result means the Flamingos advance to the knockout stage with confidence and momentum, having showcased both attacking flair and defensive solidity throughout the group phase.
