Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has spoken about his recent encounter with the Nigeria Police Force, describing it as traumatic.
Ejimakor was arrested in Abuja on Monday alongside Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel, and several others who took part in a “Free Nnamdi Kanu” protest.
They were later taken before a Magistrates’ Court in Kuje Area Council, where they were arraigned together with former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
The court granted each of them bail set at N500,000.
After meeting the bail conditions, Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, Sowore, and the other protesters regained their freedom from Kuje Prison.

Speaking with journalists after his release, Ejimakor said: “The experience is traumatic for me and my colleagues, it’s traumatic in the manner of the arrest.
“We were being shoved around, some were beaten and teargas cannisters were deployed directly on us.
“Folks, I’m back to town, re-energised. My gratitude to all that stood by me and my comrades.”
