Super Falcons Secure WAFCON 2026 Qualification After Dominant Display Against Benin

The Nigeria Super Falcons have booked their place in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following an impressive performance over two legs against the Benin Republic Amazons.

The nine-time African champions sealed qualification with a 2–0 away victory in the first leg before playing out a 1–1 draw at home to complete the tie with four points.

Displaying their trademark resilience and attacking flair, the Randy Waldrum-led side took control of the tie from the onset in Cotonou, with goals from Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade giving the Falcons a comfortable advantage.

In the return leg, the Benin Amazons showed more fight, managing to earn a 1–1 draw Tuesday in Abeokuta, but it was not enough to overturn Nigeria’s strong aggregate lead.
