Lagos APC Hits Back at PDP Over Tinubu ‘Surrender’ Claims

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit back at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over claims that President Tinubu had “surrendered” to terrorists, describing the opposition’s statement as an exercise in “intellectual laziness.”

The PDP accused the president of failing to lead effectively amid rising security challenges, including kidnappings and temporary school closures.

They urged urgent action, suggesting Tinubu either seek external assistance or resign.

In response, the Lagos APC, on November 24, 2025, highlighted recent security successes, pointing to the rescue of 38 abducted persons in Eruku as proof of effective, intelligence-led operations.

The party defended the president’s decision to cancel a foreign trip, framing it as a demonstration of leadership and commitment to national security.

On temporary school closures, the APC said the measure was a precautionary step, not a sign of weakness.

The party also accused the PDP of lacking moral authority on security, reminding Nigerians of insurgency and abduction crises under previous PDP administrations.

The APC urged the PDP to stop politicizing insecurity, insisting that the president remains “prepared, steady, and committed to securing this nation.”
