Rivers Police Rescue Five Abducted Victims in Midnight Operation

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of five individuals abducted from separate isolated residences in the state, following a coordinated security operation in the early hours of Thursday.

The victims — Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson — were freed unhurt around 1:00 a.m. on December 4, 2025. They were kidnapped by suspected cultists whose identities are yet to be established.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the rescue was carried out at Rumudogo 2 community in Emuoha Local Government Area.

The operation involved the Command’s Tactical Teams working alongside other security agencies, with crucial support from members of the community.

The victims have since been taken to a medical facility for evaluation.

The statement added that security operatives have intensified efforts to track down the fleeing abductors.

Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, vowed that the command will not relent until those behind the abduction are apprehended and prosecuted.

He urged residents to remain calm and continue partnering with security agencies, assuring them that their safety remains the Command’s utmost priority.
