Fubara Vows “Massive” Support for Tinubu, Says 2027 Will Be “Smooth Ride”

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring that the 2027 elections would be an easy victory for the president in Rivers State.

Fubara made the statement on Friday, December 12, during the flag-off of the Rivers Airport Bypass project in Port Harcourt.

“Today, I am very happy. I am not just a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), I am the number one. I have collected my [membership] card and the form is 001,” the governor said.

“So, from this moment, I am there [in APC] with all my chest and heart. The message is clear: We are going to do everything to make the 2027 election for Mr President a smooth ride in Rivers state,” he added.

Fubara told supporters that delivering for Tinubu would be their way of expressing gratitude to the president.

“How do we do it? It is with all of you here. With your support. The only way we can continue to tell Mr President thank you is to support him,” Fubara said.

The governor officially joined the APC on December 9, just days after 15 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, including Speaker Martin Amaewhule, also defected to the ruling party.

Fubara’s move to the APC and his strong endorsement of President Tinubu are expected to further redefine the political landscape in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
