A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has been killed in what is believed to be an ambush by Boko Haram terrorists in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Tuesday, the attack reportedly happened on January 5, along the Warave-Bayan Dutse Road.
It was gathered that armed men opened fire on CJFT members and local hunters who were on a routine patrol in the area.
One CJTF member, identified as 40-year-old Hamman Ibrahim, was critically wounded during the attack.
After the incident, troops from a nearby military forward operating base, alongside police officers and CJTF members, arrived at the scene and recorded details of what happened.

The injured man was taken to the General Hospital in Gwoza, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.
His body was later released to his family and buried in line with Islamic customs.
