The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a nursing mother and her child along the Supare/Ajegunle axis in Akoko South West Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Saturday, January 3, when unknown gunmen kidnapped the victims at their residence.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that a nursing mother and her child were kidnapped on January 3 by unknown gunmen at Supare/Ajegunle Akoko axis. Efforts are already ongoing while the command has deployed security apparatus in that area in order to rescue the victims alive and unhurt,” Jimoh said.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
The victim is reportedly the wife of a popular furniture maker in the area. Security operatives continue to work on securing their safe release.
