Billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has denied claims that his son fathered a young girl identified as Anuoluwapo “Anu” Adeleke, saying multiple DNA tests have conclusively ruled out paternity.
Adeleke addressed the issue publicly for the first time during a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, amid renewed debate over the long-running controversy.
He said five DNA tests, conducted at different times, all returned a zero per cent probability that Davido is the child’s biological father.
According to him, the family agreed to the tests to establish the truth and put an end to speculation, stressing that the process was transparent and free of manipulation. He added that he personally encouraged additional testing to remove all doubt.
Speaking on the role of social media, Adeleke accused investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of allegedly operating online accounts in the name of the child and using them to promote false narratives surrounding the issue.
“Kemi Olunloyo is the one impersonating the young child Anu, and I don’t even think it’s legal for anyone to be impersonating a minor,” Adeleke said, urging the public to ignore what he described as misleading and harmful online content.
He also dismissed claims of any personal relationship between Olunloyo and his family, stating that he has never met her and rejecting assertions that she was close to his wife.

Despite the negative DNA results, Adeleke disclosed that he has continued to support the child’s education and welfare, explaining that his actions were driven by compassion rather than biological ties.
He said the family would have fully embraced the child if the tests had confirmed paternity, but insisted that responsibility must be guided by scientific evidence.
The paternity dispute, which dates back more than a decade, resurfaced recently following renewed calls for another DNA test, with the child’s mother continuing to challenge previous results and demand further verification.
Adeleke, however, said the family considers the matter settled based on existing medical evidence and warned against further exploitation of the issue, particularly where a minor is involved.
