A young teenager, Anu Adeleke, has publicly appealed to Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, to undergo a DNA test to establish her paternity, a request that has stirred widespread conversation across social media.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Anu, who described herself as transitioning into her teenage years, said the request was deeply personal and driven by a desire to establish her identity. She explained that she has endured years of bullying, emotional distress and public scrutiny stemming from claims that Davido is her biological father.
According to her post, Anu recounted experiencing bullying from as early as six years old, alleging that classmates mocked her whenever she mentioned Davido as her father. She said the prolonged pressure took a toll on her mental health, leading her family to seek professional medical support at the time.
Despite these challenges, Anu said she remained focused on her education, excelled academically and rose to become a class prefect. She noted that as she grows older, she wants clarity about her identity and believes a DNA test is “the right thing to do.”
The teenager stressed that her appeal was made respectfully and directly to Davido, adding that she had also sent the message privately through his direct messages. She described the proposed DNA test as a matter strictly between herself and the singer, not an attempt to seek publicity.

“I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke for a DNA test to establish my identity,” she wrote, thanking Nigerians who have offered her emotional support over the years.
As of the time of filing this report, Davido has not publicly responded to the request. The development has sparked mixed reactions online, with some calling for sensitivity due to the age of the individual involved, while others urged a calm, private resolution.
The situation highlights the emotional weight such public claims carry, particularly for minors, and underscores calls for empathy and discretion as the matter unfolds.
