The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, arraigned one Philip Patrick Jordan before the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, for allegedly stealing and dealing in property under forfeiture.
Jordan was arraigned before Justice Rahman Oshodi following allegations that he unlawfully took an exhibit from the EFCC’s custody while on an errand at the Commission’s office on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi.
According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly accessed the Exhibit Room and removed a forfeited item without authorization. He reportedly denied the allegation when confronted by officials, until closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showing the act was played to him.

The footage, investigators said, clearly captured the moment the exhibit was taken, leading to his eventual admission and subsequent prosecution.
The case highlights internal security concerns surrounding the handling of forfeited assets and underscores the EFCC’s resolve to enforce accountability, regardless of how access to its facilities is obtained.
The Commission disclosed the arraignment in a post shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday. Further proceedings in the matter have been adjourned to a later date as the trial continues.
