Defence Minister Musa Likely To Join APC, Backs Tinubu Fully

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has hinted that he is set to formally join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while pledging his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme, on the 1st of February, 2026, Musa described himself as being in a political transition. “I’ve not transitioned yet. I’m in transition. I think I’ll become a politician, a member of the APC, definitely,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the APC for providing the platform that allowed him to serve Nigeria as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and now as Defence Minister.

“The APC has given me the opportunity to present myself, and I intend to support the party fully,” Musa added.
