Nigeria Safe’: Defence Minister Musa Calms Fears

Nigeria’s newly sworn-in Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd), has offered a strong assurance that the nation is stable, pledging that citizens will witness genuine and measurable improvements in national security in the immediate future.

General Musa made this bold declaration on Thursday, the 4th of December, 2025, in Abuja, addressing journalists immediately following his swearing-in ceremony as the Minister of Defence.

The new Defence Minister committed to enhancing coordination across the armed forces and various security agencies, underscoring his belief that security is everybody’s responsibility.

General Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, revealed the core mandate he received from the Commander-in-Chief, stating that President Tinubu has specifically tasked him with creating an environment where Nigerians can sleep peacefully, return to their farms, and send their children to school without fear.

Regarding his strategic focus and timeline, the Minister was decisive: “My immediate priority is to ensure defence takes its rightful place in the country. I assure Nigerians that results will be seen within the shortest possible time. I can guarantee that Nigeria is safe and secure,” he said.
