Leaders and key stakeholders of Ezhiba community in Nasarawa State have called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to give urgent attention to the construction of the Ezhiba-Akpata road, highlighting that its current condition poses serious challenges to transportation, farming, and local economic activities.
The appeal was presented on Monday, the 2nd of February, 2026, when the Aren Ezhiba, Chief Danlami Umbugadu, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Administrator of Akun Area Administrative Council, Dr. Ismaila Garba Adigizi, at his office in Akpata.
During the meeting, Umbugadu drew attention to the road’s deteriorating state, noting that it has brought hardship not only to residents of Ezhiba but also to neighbouring communities. He emphasised that repairing and upgrading the road would have a direct positive impact on the livelihoods of the people.
He said, “This road is in a deplorable condition and our people are suffering while using it. We are appealing to Governor Abdullahi Sule to intervene and construct the road to improve our standard of living.”
In addition, the community leader urged increased representation of Ezhiba indigenes in government employment and appointments, while reaffirming the community’s continued support for the state government.

Other notable members of the delegation, including former Speaker of Akun Development Area, Hon. Lami Martina Bako; retired education director, Mr. Charles Jatau Shari; Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the ECDA President, Chief Awayi Kuje; and the Ezhiba ECDA Chairman, Mr Umbugadu Angbashim, also reinforced the call for better infrastructure and further development projects in the area.
Responding to the delegation, Dr Adigizi expressed gratitude for the visit and assured them of the council’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the Ezhiba community.
He further promised inclusive leadership focused on fostering unity, peace, and development throughout the area, while urging residents to continue collaborating with government efforts at all levels to attract more development to their community.
