Two Aiyedatiwa Media Aides Resign Within 48 Hours

Two media aides to the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have resigned their appointments.

The officials, Pastor Taiwo Gbamila, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Multimedia, and Mr. Olugbenga Abire, Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, tendered their resignation letters on Sunday and Monday.

Gbamila, in a letter dated Monday, February 16, 2026, and addressed to the governor and the Secretary to the State Government, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve.

“Your Excellency, thank you for the opportunity to serve. I hereby respectfully tender my resignation of my appointment,” the letter read.

Abire, in a statement issued on Sunday, February 15, announced his decision to step down from his role.

“I am emotional to tell us that I have decided to quit as Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Ondo State. I will miss all of us but I am still a click away,” he said.

In a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Abire disclosed that he had communicated his decision to the governor, who approved his move.

“Late evening of Sunday, 15th February 2026, I shared the news of my exit from the Government of Ondo State with the Governor of Ondo State who appointed me to serve the people of Ondo State on the 23rd of December, 2023.

As a father, he prayed for me and sanctioned my plans. I equally hinted my colleagues who wished me well,” he stated.

Neither Gbamila nor Abire disclosed the reasons for their resignation.
