Ademola Lookman was again on target for Atlético de Madrid, but it was fellow Nigerian Raphael Onyedika who had the final say as Club Brugge forced a dramatic 3–3 draw in their UEFA Champions League playoff clash in Belgium.
Atlético made a bright start when Julián Álvarez fired the visitors ahead in the 6th minute. Lookman then doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time (45+4), netting his third goal for the Spanish side and taking his tally to five goal involvements in his first five matches for the club.
Club Brugge responded strongly after the break.
Tresoldi reduced the deficit in the 60th minute before Onyedika made it 2–2 in the 62nd minute, finally beating Jan Oblak after seeing earlier efforts in the 19th, 37th, and 51st minutes denied by the Slovenian goalkeeper.
The goal marked Onyedika’s first in the Champions League for the Belgian side.
