Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke have neutralised two suspected terrorists and recovered weapons, ammunition, and other items during an intelligence-led operation in Tse-Anka community, Yooyo Council Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State.
Account to a post shared a security analyst, Zagagola Magama, on Wednesday, the operation was part of a confidence-building patrol aimed at reassuring residents and denying criminal elements freedom of movement in the area.
It was gathered that troops received credible intelligence on suspected terrorists operating in Tse-Anka.
Acting promptly, they mobilised alongside operatives of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard.
On arrival, the troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, resulting in the neutralisation of two suspects, while others reportedly fled with possible gunshot injuries.
Recovered items from the area include one AK-47 rifle, five rifle magazines, 61 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one round of 7.62mm x 54 ammunition, nine rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Others are a Bajaj motorcycle, 82 SIM cards, six ATM cards, and several charms believed to be used by the suspects.

The Force Commander of Operation WHIRL STROKE, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops and collaborating security operatives for their swift and professional response.
He said the success underscores the sustained operational pressure being mounted against criminal elements across the Joint Operations Area.
“Continuous fighting patrols and intelligence-driven operations are yielding positive results in the fight against terrorism and banditry,” Gara stated.
He further reassured law-abiding residents of the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging continued collaboration among security agencies while pledging to sustain aggressive operations to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace in the region.
