Tinubu Arrives Lagos After Two-Day UK State Visit

President Bola Tinubu has returned to the country after completing a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

The president and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu landed in Lagos on Friday, March 20, with their aircraft arriving at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 1:15 a.m.

Waiting to receive them were several top officials, including Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and members of the All Progressives Congress leadership.

Tinubu will remain in Lagos for the Eid al-Fitr celebrations before travelling back to Abuja to continue official activities at the Presidential Villa.

The UK state visit, which began on Tuesday following an invitation from the British government, featured significant diplomatic engagements.

At Windsor Castle, King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted the presidential couple at a state banquet.

The president also visited Downing Street, where he held discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer on matters of mutual interest to both countries.

The visit produced concrete outcomes, with Nigeria and the United Kingdom signing Memoranda of Understanding in areas including port development and trade expansion.
