The father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, Joseph Aloba, has expressed deep frustration following fresh complications in the court-ordered DNA test involving his grandson, Liam.
The controversy emerged after two of the three laboratories approved by the court reportedly indicated they lack the capacity to conduct the required DNA testing, particularly procedures involving embalmed remains.
According to Mr Aloba’s lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, both AlphaBiolabs and Advanced Histopathology Laboratory Limited confirmed they are not equipped to carry out such tests.
Reacting in a viral video on Monday, Mr Aloba described the development as shocking and disheartening, alleging that it reinforces his long-held fears of deliberate attempts to obstruct justice in the case surrounding his son’s death.
“This suggests they are not ready for the truth,” he said, alleging that influential individuals may be working behind the scenes to frustrate the process.
The grieving father insisted that his pursuit of a DNA test is not only about establishing paternity but also about ensuring accountability and preventing similar controversies in the future. He stressed that the outcome of the test is crucial before proceeding with his son’s burial.
Mr Aloba further claimed that this was not the first instance of questionable facilities being proposed for forensic examinations in the case, describing it as part of a troubling pattern aimed at delaying or derailing the truth.

He also hinted at the possibility of seeking a transfer of the case from Lagos State to Ekiti State, citing concerns over fairness and transparency.
The dispute stems from a legal application filed by Mr Aloba at a Magistrate’s Court in Ikorodu, seeking to establish the paternity of Liam, the child of Wunmi Aloba.
The court had earlier approved three international laboratories for the DNA test, including a facility in the United States and two in the United Kingdom.
With the next court hearing scheduled for April 2, attention is now focused on resolving the testing impasse, which remains central to the broader legal and emotional battle surrounding Mohbad’s death.
The case continues to attract widespread public interest, reflecting both the enduring impact of the singer’s passing and growing calls for transparency and justice.
