Spain has withdrawn Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi from their squad due to knee discomfort, the national team confirmed on Sunday.
“To avoid any risk whatsoever and safeguard the player’s health, he has been released from the squad,” the Euro 2024 champions said in a statement. “Arsenal’s medical staff have been fully informed of the entire process.”
Zubimendi featured as a substitute in Spain’s 3-0 victory over Serbia on Friday but will now miss Tuesday’s friendly against Egypt in Barcelona.
