Terrorists Kill Scores, Injure Others in Jos Attack

Scores of people were killed and several others injured after terrorists attacked Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday evening.

According to eyewitnesses, the assault occurred around 7:00 p.m. when gunmen riding motorcycles in large numbers stormed the area and began firing randomly at a crowd gathered at a junction.

The attackers opened fire near a well-known private school in the community, causing panic among residents and passersby who ran for cover.

Captain Chinonso Polycarp, the Media Information Officer, confirmed the incident and said it happened while residents were carrying out their normal evening activities.

He said the exact number of casualties has not been established, but multiple deaths were recorded and many people sustained injuries in the attack.

Polycarp added that the injured victims have been evacuated to hospitals for medical attention.

He said security forces are investigating the attack to identify the perpetrators, while additional personnel have been sent to the area to maintain order and prevent further violence.
