Abia Ready For State Police, Otti Confirms

Governor Alex Otti has announced that Abia State is prepared to implement a state police system, signaling the administration’s commitment to strengthening local security.

Speaking at a public event in Umuahia on Monday, March 30, 2026, Otti said the state has fulfilled the requirements to establish a policing framework designed to improve rapid response to crime and reinforce public safety.
