Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has declared strong support for Bola Tinubu, insisting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the only party with the strength to govern Kano State and secure victory nationwide in the 2027 general elections.
He made this known while addressing a large crowd of supporters who filled the streets of Kano to welcome him upon his return from party-related engagements in Abuja.
Speaking in a video that started making the rounds on Sunday, and seen by First Daily correspondent, the governor dismissed the prospects of opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress, insisting that no other platform can challenge the APC’s dominance in the state or nationally.
“APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria, by the grace of Allah,” he said.
Yusuf also addressed critics who have described him as a one-term governor, insisting that his political future remains secure within the APC.
“We did one term in NNPP and left. We will do the second term in APC. There are two terms in APC, the party of the people,” he stated.
He further pledged loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, assuring that Kano State would support his re-election bid in 2027.
“We in Kano are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election, by the grace of Allah,” the governor added, while commending Tinubu’s efforts in improving the economy and infrastructure.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to governance, promising continued investment in key sectors.

“We will continue to deliver dividends of democracy in education, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and youth empowerment for both men and women,” he said.
He also urged eligible voters to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the next elections.
“I call on all of you to rededicate yourselves to the service of our great party and ensure you register with INEC so that you can come out and support APC in 2027,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, said the massive turnout during the reception reflected widespread support for the governor.
“The crowd you have seen today is a clear indication that the people are ready to return the governor for a second term,” he noted.
The governor’s convoy reportedly took several hours to move from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the Government House due to the large number of supporters who lined the route—a journey that normally takes about 15 minutes.
