Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has dismissed Shehu Wada Sagagi as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, with immediate effect.
The announcement was made on Thursday, the 26th of March, 2026, in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The statement directed Sagagi to transfer all duties of the ministry to the Director of Commerce without delay.
It noted that the Governor “acknowledged Sagagi’s contributions to the development of the state, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, small and medium enterprises.”

Governor Yusuf also expressed appreciation for Sagagi’s service during his time in office.
He wished the former commissioner success in his future endeavours and assured residents that his administration remains committed to effective governance and improved public services.
The statement added that the decision forms part of ongoing efforts to restructure the government system for improved performance and long-term development.
