The formal proceedings opened with a parade and ceremonial honours, with personnel of the Nigeria Police Force arranged in full formation to welcome the Vice President.
National Police Day is scheduled to be observed on April 7, 2025. According to Nigeria Police Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, the celebrations extend across a week, from April 2 to April 7, and will include medical outreaches, community engagement programmes, and exhibitions organised by security firms and partners.
Describing the event as “historic,” Adejobi said it aims to “honour the dedication, sacrifices, and contributions of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring national security.
“It will also provide a platform to recognise the Force’s pivotal role in safeguarding lives and property, while reinforcing public trust in the police.”
