Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has lauded the commitment and sacrifices of police officers as Nigerians commemorate the 2026 National Police Day.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, the governor paid tribute to members of the Nigeria Police Force for their dedication to safeguarding lives and maintaining public order.
“Today, we celebrate those who put on the uniform and risk their lives to keep us safe. Our police officers deserve our gratitude and respect,” said Radda
Radda highlighted the indispensable role of the police in ensuring the protection of lives and property across the country, with particular emphasis on their efforts in Katsina State.
He acknowledged the courage and resilience of officers working to tackle insecurity and criminal activities, noting that their contributions have been vital in ongoing efforts to stabilise the state.

The governor also urged residents to support security agencies by sharing useful information and collaborating with law enforcement to strengthen safety at the community level.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment, Radda pledged sustained support for the police to enhance their operational capacity.
“Our administration is committed to providing whatever support the police need. Better equipment, better training, and better welfare for officers—these are our priorities,” the governor said.
He further expressed appreciation to officers serving in the state and offered prayers for their safety and success in the line of duty.
“On National Police Day, Governor Radda extended his heartfelt gratitude to all police officers in Katsina State. He prayed for their safety and continued success in their operations,” the statement added.
Nigeria observes National Police Day annually on April 7.
