The Nigeria Football Federation has reportedly made contact with William Osula over a potential switch of international allegiance to the Super Eagles.
Osula, who plays for Newcastle United, was born in Aarhus to a Nigerian father and a Danish mother. Although he has represented Denmark at youth level, including the U-21 side where he scored eight goals in 15 appearances, he is yet to make his senior debut.
The 22-year-old striker was recently invited to the Denmark national team but did not feature, leaving the door open for a possible switch to Nigeria.
According to Danish journalist Farzam Abolhosseini, the NFF has initiated contact with the player through intermediaries close to him, as both countries seek to secure his international future.
Osula now faces a decision between representing Denmark or Nigeria, with both nations having recently missed out on qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria is preparing for upcoming fixtures, including the Unity Cup and international friendlies against Poland national team and Portugal national team.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle had earlier indicated plans to scout both domestic talents and foreign-born players eligible to represent Nigeria.
However, with the Unity Cup scheduled outside the FIFA international window, Osula may not feature in the tournament even if he opts for Nigeria.
The striker is currently in fine form, scoring three goals in his last four Premier League matches, including a decisive goal against Manchester United and another against AFC Bournemouth.
Denmark head coach Brian Riemer has also praised Osula’s qualities, highlighting his pace and pressing ability as key strengths.
Neither the NFF nor the Denmark Football Federation has issued an official statement on the player’s international future.
