Zinoleesky Quits Marlian Music, Launches Own Label Zinodict Music

Nigerian street-pop singer Zinoleesky has officially parted ways with Marlian Music, closing a major chapter of his career and unveiling his own record label, Zinodict Music, in a decisive move toward full independence.

The development, which became public on Thursday, April 23, 2026, marks the end of his long-standing association with the label owned by Naira Marley.

Zinoleesky joined Marlian Music in 2019 and rose quickly to prominence under the imprint, becoming one of its most commercially successful acts through a string of Afropop and street-inspired hits.

His exit effectively draws a line under a seven-year run that played a central role in shaping his sound, visibility and position within Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.

With the launch of Zinodict Music, the singer now assumes full control of his recordings, branding and release strategy, joining a growing list of Nigerian artists opting for independent structures that prioritise ownership and creative autonomy.

The transition is already being reflected in his upcoming work. Zinoleesky is expected to release new material under the label, including a project titled Nostalgia, which is positioned as his first official statement in this new era.

The move also comes against the backdrop of wider conversations within the industry about artist welfare, contractual control and label relationships, particularly following the turbulence that surrounded Marlian Music in recent years.

With Zinodict Music now established, Zinoleesky steps into a dual role as both recording artist and label executive, signaling a strategic reset and a more controlled direction for the next phase of his career.
