Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been named among the substitutes for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid, with Noni Madueke preferred on the right wing.
Saka, who recently returned from an Achilles tendon injury, came off the bench in Arsenal’s Premier League win over Newcastle at the weekend, a result that sent the Gunners back to the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta has named Viktor Gyokeres to lead the attack in place of the injured Kai Havertz, while Eberechi Eze also starts on the bench after picking up a knock. Gabriel Martinelli has been selected on the left flank ahead of Leandro Trossard.
Atletico Madrid, like Arsenal, are still chasing a first Champions League title and return to the semi-final stage for the first time in nine years under Diego Simeone.
The Argentine coach has included Ademola Lookman on the left wing after the Nigeria international recovered from a minor injury setback. Marcos Llorente starts at right-back, while Koke partners Johnny Cardoso in midfield.
