Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have sustained a series of offensive operations across the region, recording notable gains in the fight against insurgency.
The operations, conducted as part of Operation DESERT SANITY V, led to the neutralisation of several terrorists, the arrest of suspected collaborators, and the surrender of a member of a terrorist group.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Lt. Sani Uba, on Friday night, troops working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) successfully engaged insurgents moving from Yale toward the Sambisa Forest axis. During the encounter, four terrorists were neutralised.
Troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition and food supplies believed to be part of terrorist logistics.
No casualties were recorded among the troops, who returned safely to base.
It was gathered that multiple units carried out sustained operations along key routes, including Dambboa Maiduguri, Dambboa Gwoza, and the Goniri axis.
These operations reportedly disrupted infiltration attempts and limited the operational freedom of terrorist elements in the area.
In a separate development, troops stationed at Kanama arrested two suspected collaborators during a stop-and-search operation.
The suspects were found with clothing, personal items, and digital materials believed to be linked to terrorist logistics and operations.
Preliminary findings suggest possible ties to insurgent groups, and the individuals remain in custody pending further investigation.

The Theatre Command reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace, security, and economic stability in the North-East.
It also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their resilience and gallantry, encouraging them to maintain the current operational momentum in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
