2027: ADC Confirms Atiku Paid ₦90m For Presidential Nomination Form

The African Democratic Congress has confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has completed payment for the party’s presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 general election.

The confirmation was contained in a statement shared on the party’s official X account on Saturday, alongside a copy of the payment receipt issued to the former presidential candidate.

The receipt, identified as Official Receipt No. 2881, showed that the sum of ₦90 million was paid through a bank draft for the presidential nomination form. The document was dated Friday, May 8, 2026.

Announcing the development, the party stated: “A New Chapter in Nigeria’s Democratic Journey.

“H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has officially received his payment receipt to contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.”

The ADC described the move as a major step in what it portrayed as an expanding political movement within the party and a reflection of its evolving strategy ahead of the next election cycle.

“This development marks another significant moment in the growing movement for national renewal, democratic inclusion, and people-driven leadership within the ADC,” it read.

Positioning itself as a viable alternative in the opposition landscape, the party reiterated its commitment to national development and governance reforms.

It added, “As Nigerians continue to seek credible alternatives, the ADC remains committed to providing a strong platform built on unity, competence, economic recovery, security, and national progress.”

The party also disclosed that the next stage of the process would take place in the coming days.

According to the statement, “The formal presentation of nomination forms is expected on Monday at the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja.”

The ADC further suggested that support and momentum within the party were increasing as preparations for the 2027 election gather pace.

“The movement is growing. Hope is rising. Expect more,” the party concluded.

Although the party has yet to provide further details regarding internal plans or possible alliances, Atiku’s acquisition of the nomination receipt marks one of the early developments shaping the political landscape ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
