FG Announces Partial Closure Of Ikorodu-Sagamu Road Monday For Reconstruction

The Federal Ministry of Works has disclosed plans to partially shut down portions of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road beginning Monday as reconstruction activities continue on the highway.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Mr Olayiwola Komolafe, explained that the decision was in line with a directive from the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, instructing Messrs Arab Contractors to return to site and intensify work on key sections of the road project.

Komolafe identified the affected areas as the corridor between Ikorodu Roundabout and Sabo Junction in Lagos, as well as the stretch from Cement to Coca-Cola inward Sagamu.

He stated that motorists travelling from Ikorodu towards Sagamu would be redirected through the construction sections under a counterflow system to ease movement during the repairs.
