The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has alerted parents and guardians to be vigilant over suspicious sachets and packages found around their homes after operatives uncovered illicit drugs valued at more than N5.8bn in a mansion located in Lekki, Lagos.
According to the anti-narcotics agency, the building was being used as a major stash house where various hard drugs were packaged in colourful designer sachets allegedly aimed at attracting young people and teenagers.
NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, disclosed the development in a statement posted on X on Sunday, revealing that the seizure was made during a weekend raid carried out by operatives of the agency.
Babafemi said the operation prevented large quantities of dangerous substances from circulating within communities and homes.
“These are some of the items recovered from a mansion used as stash house in Lekki Lagos where over N5.8 billion worth of illicit drugs were seized by NDLEA officers at the weekend,” he stated.
He further warned that traffickers are increasingly repackaging narcotics in attractive sachets designed to appeal to children and youths, urging families to pay close attention to unusual items discovered at home.

“That’s the much saved from getting into our homes by those targeting our children with illicit substances packaged in designer sachets,” he added, noting that parents who discover such items among their children’s belongings should seek immediate help.
The agency has repeatedly expressed concern over the growing tactic of disguising hard drugs as harmless consumer products, including sweets, snacks and other colourful items commonly associated with young people.
NDLEA said the trend poses a serious threat to public health and youth safety, stressing the need for stronger parental supervision and public awareness in the fight against drug abuse.
