In commemoration of the 2026 Nurses Week celebration, First Daily on Tuesday spoke with Nurse Praise, a pediatric nurse with more than 12 years of professional experience, on the realities, rewards, and challenges of the nursing profession.
Reflecting on her journey in pediatric healthcare, Nurse Praise described the profession as one that demands resilience, compassion, and dedication despite its emotional and physical demands.
“Pediatric nursing comes with mixed feelings , happiness and stress but in the long run, it is a fulfilling experience,” she said.
According to her, one of the greatest sources of fulfillment in her career has been witnessing critically ill children recover and regain hope for a healthier future.
“The joy of caring for people and seeing them recover, especially children who may seem to have little chance at life, gives me a deep sense of accomplishment,” she stated.
