The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of 47 senatorial aspirants disqualified from contesting its forthcoming Senate primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The list was made public on Monday, May 18, 2026, in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The APC said the screening was conducted by its committees in line with established guidelines, but it did not give reasons for the disqualifications.
Among those affected is former senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who represented Bayelsa East, alongside Benson Agadaga from the same district.

In Rivers West, four aspirants were dropped, including Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Ipalibo Banigo.
Zamfara recorded multiple disqualifications across its central and northern senatorial zones, ranking among the most affected states.
Other affected states include Adamawa, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, the Federal Capital Territory, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, and Yobe, where several aspirants were also excluded.
The party said the exercise was part of preparations for the primaries but did not disclose reasons for the screening outcomes.
In total, 47 senatorial aspirants were disqualified nationwide.
