Operatives of the Kano State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have arrested 10 suspected criminals for various criminal acts ranging from vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, tresspass and receiving stolen properties.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.
Abdullahi said that the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.
According to the statement, the areas where the suspects were arrested included Gwarmai, Ghari local government area, Challawa industrial area, Unguwar Rimi and Waratallawa all in Kumbotso local government area of the state.
“The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has successfully bust and arrested 10 suspected criminal gangs alleged to have committed various criminal acts ranging from vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, trespass and receiving stolen properties.
“The suspects were nabbed at different locations in the state, in places such as Gwarmai, Ghari local government area, Challawa industrial area, Unguwar Rimi as well as Waratallawa all in Kumbotso local government area of Kano State,” the statement said.
It added that the suspects have been paraded on Tuesday at the command’s headquarters by the state Commandant, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama IION.

Exhibits recovered from them comprised of 200metres of aluminium conductor cables, handsets, Copper wire, power banks and dangerous weapons–knives, Cutlass, sword and scissors, among others.
It said investigations have been concluded and the suspects would soon be charged in court for proper prosecution.
The commandant reaffirmed the corps commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure as well as zero tolerance to all criminal acts, while enjoining the good people of Kano to continue to support security agencies with information so as to tackle security challenges in the state.
Earlier, the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC arrested three men over alleged illegal mining and unlawful transportation of suspected solid minerals in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The suspects, identified as Musa Abdullahi, 45; Aliyu Ibrahim, 20; and Ishaq Ibrahim, 51, were reportedly apprehended during a late-night intelligence-led operation carried out by operatives of the Mines and Steel Unit attached to the command’s Special Patrol Team.
