President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace love and tolerance as well as strengthen national unity and show compassion to one another as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, May 27, after observing Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, Tinubu expressed gratitude to God for preserving lives to witness another celebration and called on citizens to reflect on the values associated with the season.
“Well, we thank God, Almighty Allah, who has provided for us and kept us to see another year, another Eid-el-Kabir.
“We thank Him for His mercy, and we must learn from the lessons of this season by showing love to one another. No discrimination, no ethnicity, no hatred,” Tinubu said.
The President encouraged Nigerians to embrace generosity and kindness, saying the country’s shared humanity should remain central to interactions among citizens.

“We should share love and be generous to one another in a way that reflects the values of our country and our common humanity,” the President stated.
Tinubu also highlighted the importance of tolerance, submission to the will of Allah and obedience to the law, stressing that these values are necessary for social harmony and national progress.
“It is essential that we remain tolerant, obedient to the will of Allah, and obedient to the rule of law, which must guide our society,” he added.
Reflecting on the meaning of sacrifice during Eid-el-Kabir, the President said the season reinforces the sanctity of human life and the spiritual lessons behind devotion and obedience.
“The sacrifice we are talking about, even in the beginning of life, where we take this from, a child was replaced with an animal. And that is what the value of life is all about,” Tinubu said.
