Tinubu Congratulates Modi On Becoming India’s Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest-serving elected prime minister in India’s history, describing the achievement as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the Indian people.

In a statement issued from the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, Tinubu hailed Modi’s leadership, dedication to public service and commitment to national development, noting that the Indian leader’s influence extends beyond his country’s borders.

The President said Modi’s emergence as India’s longest-serving elected prime minister after securing three consecutive mandates demonstrates the enduring support he enjoys among citizens of the Asian nation.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the enduring confidence and trust the people of India have reposed in his leadership over three consecutive mandates,” Tinubu stated.

He praised Modi’s contributions to India’s growth and his role on the global stage, describing him as a leader whose service continues to inspire millions around the world.

According to Tinubu, Modi remains not only a strong ally of Nigeria but also a personal friend whose counsel and partnership he deeply values.

“Beyond being a great friend of Nigeria, Prime Minister Modi is a personal friend and trusted ally whom I can always count on,” the President said.

He added that over the years he had developed admiration for Modi’s wisdom, courage and commitment to advancing the prosperity and development of India.

Tinubu also highlighted the Indian leader’s contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and India, noting that Modi is a distinguished recipient of Nigeria’s national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

The President said the honour reflects Modi’s role in deepening diplomatic, economic and strategic ties between both nations.

“As a distinguished recipient of Nigeria’s national honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), he has also contributed immensely to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries,” Tinubu stated.

On behalf of the Federal Government and the people of Nigeria, the President wished Modi continued good health, wisdom and success as he continues to lead India.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, I wish Prime Minister Modi continued good health, wisdom, and success as he leads India to even greater heights,” Tinubu added.

Modi’s latest milestone further cements his place in India’s political history, having led the country through significant economic, technological and diplomatic developments since first assuming office.
