Chukwuma Soludo on Monday appeared at a high-profile political endorsement rally in Abakaliki, where he declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and advocated stronger unity among progressive political stakeholders across the country.
Speaking before a large crowd of supporters, Soludo described his visit as a “solidarity visit,” stressing what he called the increasing collaboration among progressive forces nationwide. The event was held in Ebonyi State.
According to a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the Anambra governor attended the rally alongside his host, Francis Nwifuru, whom he referred to as “my own brother,” while reaffirming his support for cooperative governance and national cohesion.
Soludo, addressing the gathering, said:
“I am here on a solidarity march with my own brother, the Rt. Hon. Governor of Ebonyi State, who, by the grace of God, is governor until 2031.
“I am here in solidarity with you because today, you are endorsing the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

“I have come in solidarity because progressives are working together. It is time for progressives to unite”, he said.
He also acknowledged the country’s current socio-economic challenges while expressing confidence in the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to address them.
Additionally, he hinted that his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, would soon define its official position aimed at strengthening a wider progressive alliance in Nigeria.
In a message directed at Ndị Igbo, Soludo urged a shift away from grievance-driven politics toward a more strategic and outcome-focused political engagement.
“I say to ụmụnne m ndị Igbo, enough of the politics of lamentations. We must now move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress—an alliance and partnership for prosperity for Ndigbo. We must now unite as Ndigbo; we must not waste our votes again,” he said.
The rally concluded with renewed pledges of support for the President’s development agenda and a call for deeper political cooperation across party lines.
