The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise.
The board disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who urged candidates who sat for the examination to check their results through JAMB’s official result-checking platforms.
According to Benjamin, the release of the mop-up results marks the beginning of the next stage in the admission process, with candidate ranking set to commence immediately.
“Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates. Thereafter, the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend,” he stated.
The board expressed gratitude to candidates and stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout the examination process.

The mop-up examination was conducted on June 13, 2026, to accommodate candidates who had been successfully biometrically verified for the main UTME but were unable to take the examination due to technical challenges, biometric verification issues, or other disruptions at their designated centres.
JAMB noted that the exercise served as a final opportunity for affected candidates to participate in the examination and secure their scores ahead of the admission process.
The main 2026 UTME was held nationwide between April 16 and April 25, with thousands of candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across the country.
With the mop-up results now released, attention is expected to shift to the admission phase as institutions prepare to begin processing eligible candidates for the 2026 academic session.
