Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu deserves commendation rather than criticism for his administration’s efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy.
Shettima made the remarks while speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit on Monday, where he highlighted the Federal Government’s reform agenda and its commitment to creating an enabling environment for economic growth and investment.
According to the Vice President, the Tinubu administration has undertaken difficult but necessary reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, improving investor confidence and laying the foundation for long-term national development.
“The president deserves commendation and not condemnation,” Shettima said, urging Nigerians to appreciate the sacrifices and policy decisions being implemented to address the country’s economic challenges.

He noted that while the reforms may have come with short-term difficulties, they are intended to deliver sustainable economic gains and attract greater domestic and foreign investments.
Shettima also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with state governments and the private sector to unlock Nigeria’s economic potential, describing investment as a key driver of job creation and national prosperity.
The Delta State Economic and Investment Summit brought together government officials, business leaders, investors and development partners to explore strategies for boosting economic growth and expanding investment opportunities in the state and across Nigeria.
