The Lagos State Government has commenced rehabilitation of the damaged section of Anthony Village Bus Stop and announced temporary traffic restrictions to facilitate the project.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, that excavation works have begun at the location as part of efforts to permanently address recurring road failures linked to heavy rainfall.
He said the affected stretch would be rebuilt with interlocking stones to improve durability and prevent further deterioration.

Under the traffic arrangement, motorists from Fadeyi heading towards the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway through Anthony Village will be unable to use the affected route during the construction period.
Drivers connecting to Oshodi through the Anthony Village Bus Stop service lane have been advised to remain on the expressway and use alternative routes, while motorists from Oshodi heading towards Anthony–Ikorodu Road have been informed that there is currently no through access at the site.
The Ministry of Transportation urged commuters to plan their journeys, avoid the affected corridor where possible and use alternative routes to reduce delays.
The state government said the intervention is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen road infrastructure and address weather-related damage on major corridors, appealing to motorists for patience and cooperation during the project.
