Cristiano Ronaldo has retained his position as the world’s highest-paid footballer by weekly base salary, while Lionel Messi has returned to the global earnings rankings in 13th place.
Salary data compiled by Capology and published by Planet Football on Wednesday shows Ronaldo leading the list with an estimated weekly base wage of £3.42 million at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.
His earnings place him well ahead of Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema, who is reported to receive £2.01 million per week.
The latest rankings underline the financial strength of the Saudi Pro League, with six players from the league occupying places among the world’s 15 highest-paid footballers.
“Cristiano Ronaldo still ranks as the highest-paid player in the Saudi Pro League and world football, earning a whopping £3.4 million per week with Al-Nassr,” the report said.

In England, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland remains the Premier League’s highest-paid player, earning a weekly base salary of £525,000.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé sits sixth overall with £512,992 per week, while teammate Vinícius Júnior and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane are tied in ninth position on £410,393 each.
Messi, who was absent from the previous edition of the rankings, makes his return following his switch to Inter Miami, where he reportedly earns £360,876 per week, placing him 13th overall.
Also included in the top 15 are Jamal Musiala, Darwin Núñez, Virgil van Dijk and Rúben Neves.
The report noted that the figures reflect estimated weekly base salaries only and exclude performance-related bonuses, signing-on fees, image rights and commercial endorsement earnings.
